Our History:

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) has provided expertise and specialist care since it was founded in 1905, with the amalgamation of London’s three specialist orthopaedic hospitals into a single centre of excellence. 

Its history can be traced back over 180 years to 1838.

The main hospital is located on 112 green belt acres in Stanmore, North London and is commonly referred to the ‘country branch’.

RNOH is the only UK centre to be a dedicated NIHR Biomedical Research Centre for cancer. Its strong focus on research means patients will often have faster access to the latest drugs, treatments, clinical trials and techniques not readily available anywhere else.

RNOH is a member of the London Specialist Hospitals, a group of leading specialist hospitals delivering world-leading private healthcare in Orthopaedics, Cancer, Paediatrics, Ophthalmic, Heart and Lung diseases.
